So, the job is super sweet and would allow me to blog, vlog and social media for a JOB, get paid well and get a new computer.
Which means that I will vlog more often on my personal channel and also be on skype more, friends!

“You know what? It’s true, actually. Most women aren’t funny. But that’s because most PEOPLE aren’t funny. Being funny is like any other artistic skill, but to wield it successfully requires outspokenness, unapologetic honesty, supreme self-assuredness, and an outright refusal to pander.”

People, dearest friends, I’m writing this among a string of awesome stand up comedy shows in our own Albuquerque. We may not have a comedy club proper, but I know we have some crazy talented and dedicated producers and performers in this town.
Local stand up comedy right now is my favorite kind of art – found art. It’s here and it’s happening and for the people who stumble upon it, the people who are just in the bar when we start up, or those who see the random flyer, it’s a door into a world that is grassroots, enriching, and just starting to thrive.
I’m beyond proud to be part of Albuquerque’s comedy scene. We have shows going on every night of the week – ‘cept Fridays, because as Jason Green talked about with me recently, everybody needs a day off. We are in bars, theaters, hookah lounges. We’re in any space that’ll have us. With teeth gritted in determination, a notebook full of jokes, and a microphone, we show up to entertain. To “push social and political boundaries.” To make puns. To make people laugh.
What kind of crazy human sets out to make strangers laugh? Arguably, ego maniacs with a need to be the center of attention. I don’t see much of that here though. It’s like a unique form of community service, our shows. Life is tough. Work – if you even have it regularly – is tough. It’s easy to succumb to. I am telling you, though, that the opportunity exists regularly in Albuquerque for anyone to come and let go for an amount of time. To be with others. To laugh.
I’m a privileged to be among people with the lofty goal of making that opportunity real for others. I am humbled and beyond grateful to be surrounded by such talent.
If you’re a comedian in our town, be proud. If you are anyone other than that handful of people, come to a show and see what happens. Be part of the experience. Enjoy and support a local art that works for you. You deserve it. You deserve the chance to be happy. To laugh.
I love this town.

The great thing about comedy (EDIT: read: LIFE) is that sometimes on stage you succeed and sometimes you fail but your success as a human being on this planet isn’t affected. I mean, hell yes it feels that way for about twenty minutes or a whole day if you got heckled.
Success and failure are really subjective things and I think it’s inhumane to suggest that humans can only sum up their entire experiences on this planet in only one of the following ways:
Success
or
Failure.
That’s bullshit. Every day is made up of little successes and little failures. Who keeps tallies of how many successes they have in a day and adds them to their LIFE’S GRAND TOTAL.?
What I’m trying to say, mostly is don’t quantify your life. Qualify it. Make it as quality as you can and don’t give a fuck whose standards of success and failure you’re making beep just live and make jokes.
That’s what often happens when you get two comedians on the same plane together. Follow @marcmaron and @pattonoswalt now.
